Weekly Report 9/10/14 to 9/16/14

ITEMS OF INTEREST:
The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the citizens of Washington County that certain roads have been dedicated as access routes for ATVs. While using these access routes, all ATV operators are expected to follow the rules of the road, including operating at or under the posted speed limit. It is illegal to operate an ATV on a road which is not listed as an access route.

The Sheriff’s Office received and responded to 108 calls for service this week.

09/10/14:
Deputy Timothy Carter performed a well-being check on an individual on County Road in Trescott. No further action was necessary.

A request for assistance from the MDEA was answered by Deputy Timothy Carter. Deputy Carter responded to Duck Cove Road in Roque Bluffs and assisted with an arrest. He then transported the individual to the Washington County Jail.

Cpl. Christopher Donahue investigated a complaint for a possible assault and domestic violence assault on Bumpy Drive in Princeton. None of the parties involved wished to press charges and so were separated for the night. While on the scene, Cpl. Donahue issued a summons for Violation of Conditions of release to one of the company present after an Intoxilyzer test was performed.

Sgt. Brandon Parker responded to a single-vehicle accident on Main Street in Princeton. The operator of the vehicle was transported to Calais Regional Hospital for possible injuries.

A two-vehicle accident on the Port Road in Machiasport was attended to by Deputy Timothy Carter. One of the vehicle operators was transported to Down East Community Hospital for possible injuries.

09/11/2014:
A three-vehicle crash on Kennedy Highway in Milbridge was investigated by Deputy Blaine Silk. Occupants of two of the vehicles were transported to the hospital for potential injuries.

09/13/14:
A car-eagle crash on the Blacks Woods Road in Cherryfield was investigated by Lt. Timothy Tabbutt. There was no injury to the operator of the vehicle.

Deputy Blaine Silk reported to a complaint of burglary on the Hardy Point Road in Pembroke. The investigation is ongoing.

09/14/14:
Lt. Timothy Tabbutt investigated a report of Disorderly Conduct on Barren Way in Cherryfield. Lt. Tabbutt spoke to both parties and they agreed that they would stay away from each other. Lt. Tabbutt was later called back to the scene. A Disorderly Conduct warning was issued to all parties.

09/15/2014:
Sgt. Ralph Pineo investigated a report of an ATV illegally operating on South Street in Lubec. The operator of the ATV could not be found.

A car-deer accident at the intersection of Brook Street and US Route 1 in Baring was investigated by Cpl. Christopher Donahue. Minor injuries were reported by both occupants of the vehicle.

A single-vehicle accident on the Station Road near the Centerville – Jonesboro town line was investigated by Deputy Blaine Silk. Minor injuries were reported by the occupants of the vehicle.

Deputy Timothy Carter responded to a report of Criminal Mischief on Washington Street. The investigation remains ongoing.

A report of aggravated assault on Main Street in Lubec was investigated by Deputy Timothy Carter with assistance from Cpl. Christopher Donahue. Several witnesses were interviewed, and an individual was arrested for aggravated assault and Violating Conditions of Release. The suspect was transported to the Washington County Jail.
