February 14 – 20, 2014 Sheriff's Report

During this time the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to 62 calls for service. Notable complaints are listed below:

Sgt Ralph Pineo conducted a bail check in Lubec. The subject was in compliance with the bail conditions. No charges.

Deputy Gregory Sawyer responded to an unresponsive adult male in Whiting. The Machias ambulance arrived and administered CPR but was unable to revive the male.

Sgt Brandon Parker responded to a motor vehicle accident in Jonesport. A truck and a small car were involved in the accident. One of the subjects was combative and appeared to be intoxicated. He was transported to Downeast Community Hospital. Investigation continues.

Deputy Christopher Donahue responded to a domestic disturbance in Danforth. A mother and father were having a dispute about where their child would be staying. The parties worked out the dispute. No charges.

Sgt Brandon Parker conducted a bail check in Marshfield. The subject was in compliance with the bail conditions. No charges.

Sgt Ralph Pineo responded to Lubec to assist with a missing 10 year old boy. The boy was located at a nearby residence.

Deputy Christopher Donahue assisted with an accident in Charlotte. A tractor had flipped back and the driver was pinned. Life flight transported the driver to the hospital.

Lt Timothy Tabbutt investigated a theft in Cherryfield. Checks were reported stolen. Investigation continues.

Lt Timothy Tabbutt responded to a 911 hang up in Steuben. The caller was heard yelling at someone before the connection was lost. Caller called again and stated that her husband had assaulted her. Lt Tabbutt arrived at the residence a few minutes after officer Paul Gamblee from Gouldsboro Police Dept. arrived. The husband was arrested and transported to Washington County Jail.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office weekly Report for February 7 - February 13, 2014

The Sheriff’s Office responded to 76 calls for service. 17 of those calls were vehicle accidents. Notable complaints are listed below:

Deputy Chris Donahue responded to a possible knife wound in Princeton. Chief Alex Nicholas assisted Deputy Donahue. The individual was very agitated and had to be placed in wrist restraints. An ambulance was called and the individual was transported to the Calais Regional Hospital.

Deputy Dennis Worcester investigated a burglary in Jonesboro. A residence was stripped of all the copper. Investigation continues.

Lt Travis Willey conducted a bail check in Steuben. The subject had a bail condition of no use or possession of intoxicants. The subject was in compliance with the bail conditions.

Sgt Ralph Pineo conducted a bail check in Baileyville. The subject had a bail condition of no use or possession of intoxicants. The subject was in compliance with the bail conditions.

Deputy Dennis Worcester assisted Sgt James Malloy of the Milbridge Police Dept. with a bail check in Milbridge. The subject had a bail condition of no use or possession of intoxicants. The subject was arrested for being intoxicated and transported to the Washington County Jail.

Deputy Dennis Worcester investigated a criminal mischief incident in Pembroke. A boat was damaged that was parked at the Pembroke town landing. Investigation continues.

Deputy Dennis Worcester conducted a bail check in Jonesport. The subject had a bail condition of no use or possession of intoxicants. The subject was in compliance with the bail conditions.

Sgt Brandon Parker investigated a criminal threatening complaint in Addison. An individual had made threatening statements to a family member. No charges at this time. Investigation continues.

Deputy Christopher Donahue conducted a bail check in Baileyville. The subject had a bail condition of no use or possession of intoxicants. The subject was in compliance with the bail conditions.

Deputy Gregory Sawyer executed a civil order of arrest in Baileyville. Subject was taken to Calais District Court and released with a new payment plan.

Deputy Dennis Worcester investigated a criminal threatening in Harrington. An individual made threats against another person on Facebook. Deputy Worcester spoke with both parties and they agreed not to have any contact with each other. No charges.

Sgt Brandon Parker investigated a report of fraud in Lubec. An elderly couple was getting phone calls that they were going to be summonsed for problems with their social security. No money or personal information was transferred. Deputy Parker determined that the number was false.

Lt Timothy Tabbutt responded to an assault in Cherryfield. A female said she had been assaulted. The individual was located, arrested for assault and transported to the Washington County Jail.

Lt Timothy Tabbutt responded to a report of suspicious activity in Addison. A female was going from apartment to apartment pounding on the doors and peaking in windows. The female refused to stop and was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Washington County Jail.

Deputy Christopher Donahue responded to a burglary in Baileyville at the Foodliner. A front window had been broken out and liquor was missing. A male subject was later seen walking in the area and had liquor in his backpack. The male was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail. Border Patrol Agents and the Chief of Baileyville Police Dept. assisted.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office weekly Report for January 31 –February 6, 2014

The Sheriff’s Office responded to 67 calls for service. 9 of those calls were “911 Hang ups” which require a response from an officer. Notable complaints are listed below:

Sgt Brandon Parker responded to a report of shots being fired at a road sign in Marion Township. A vehicle traveling on Route 86 discharged a firearm at a school bus sign. Investigation continues.

Sgt Brandon Parker conducted a bail check in Marshfield. The subject had a no use or possession of drugs or alcohol condition. The subject was in compliance with the bail conditions.

Deputy Christopher Donahue investigated a theft in Baileyville. A family member had stolen coins. Investigation continues.

Sgt Ralph Pineo conducted a bail check in Machias. The subject had a no use or possession of drugs or alcohol. Subject was in compliance with the bail conditions.

Deputy Dennis Worcester responded to a complaint of a female walking on Main Street in East Machias that appeared to be in need of assistance. The female was transported to the Downeast Community Hospital. Her boyfriend was located and arrested for domestic assault and transported to the Washington County Jail. Lt Timothy Tabbutt and Sgt Ralph Pineo assisted.

Lt Timothy Tabbutt responded to a juvenile that had run away from home in Harrington. The juvenile was located in Machias with a friend.

Lt Timothy Tabbutt investigated a theft of heating oil from a camp on Chain Lake. 50 gallons of heating oil was missing. Investigation continues.

Deputy Gregory Sawyer investigated a burglary in East Machias. Someone had entered a residence and turned the thermostat to 90 degrees. No damage or items missing. Investigation continues.

Sgt Brandon Parker arrested a female for criminal speeding in Addison.

Lt Timothy Tabbutt and Deputy Dennis Worcester conducted bail checks in Jonesport. The subjects were in compliance with their bail conditions.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office weekly Report for January 24-30, 2014

Sgt Brandon Parker responded to a report of theft in Cherryfield. A cell phone had been stolen from a residence. Investigation continues.

Deputy Gregory Sawyer responded to a request to remove a subject from a residence in Edmunds Township. A female was intoxicated and refusing to leave a residence. Warning issued.

Deputy Gregory Sawyer responded to Whitneyville to a report of theft. A male subject had moved out of the residence but was returning at night and removing items from the residence. Warnings were issued for harassment.

Deputy Gregory Sawyer investigated a burglary in East Machias. A residence had been broken into. Investigation continues.

Sgt Ralph Pineo investigated a report of criminal mischief in Alexander. A female had broken several items at a residence. She agreed to clean up the broken items. No charges.

Sgt Brandon Parker investigated a violation of protection order. One party was receiving texts messages from the other party. No charges.

Sgt Brandon Parker investigated a harassment charge in Jonesboro. A landlord was harassing a tenant by texting. The landlord was contacted and agreed to stop. No charges.

Lt Timothy Tabbutt investigated a theft in Columbia Falls. A customer of Elmer’s Country Store had pumped gas and driven off without paying. The driver was located and returned and paid for the gas. No charges.

Lt Travis Willey investigated a theft at a high school basketball game in Machias. A basketball player reported that a ring and cash was stolen from her gym bag that was in the locker room. Investigation continues.

Deputy Dennis Worcester investigated a criminal mischief in East Machias and Cutler. Two skidders were damaged. Investigation continues.

Lt Timothy Tabbutt and Deputy Dennis Worcester conducted bail checks in Jonesport. Two subjects had a bail condition of no use or possession of drugs, they tested positive and were arrested for violation of bail conditions.

Sgt Brandon Parker, Lt Travis Willey and Deputy Christopher Donahue responded to a domestic situation in Pembroke. Two brothers were fighting and shots were fired. Both the subjects were arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.

Sgt Brandon Parker conducted a bail check in Lubec. Subject was in compliance with her bail conditions.

Sgt Ralph Pineo and Sgt Brandon Parker responded to a domestic disturbance in East Machias. A male subject was arrested for threatening his wife.

Sgt Ralph Pineo responded to a loud noise complaint in Marshfield.
