April 2009 Monthly Report

04/17/09: Deputy Dennis Perry has transferred from Court Security to Dispatch.

04/18/09: Sgt Mary Zadalis received the Deputy of the Year Award from American legion Post 8 in Cherryfield.

04/30/09: The Civil Division handled 182 papers of civil process.

04/30/09: Average inmate count for the month of April, 36.

04/30/09: 20 Protection Orders were served in month of April.

The Sheriff’s Patrol handled 335 Calls for Service from April 1, 2009 through May 1, 2009.

The Calls for Service are broken out into incident type in the attached Call Type PDF file.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted (5) five Sex Offender Registrations (SOR) in the month of April, 2009.

The Sheriffs Office Patrol Division applied for and received (3) three very important Traffic Safety Grants from the State of Maine, Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Highway Safety.

The first of the grants is a Operating Under the Influence (OUI), High Visibility (HV) grant for enforcement throughout the spring and summer of this year for all of Washington County. All money provided for this grant is for extra OUI, HV enforcement in overtime.

The second grant is for traffic safety, SPEED enforcement throughout the summer months in all of Washington County. All money for this grant is also for extra SPEED enforcement in overtime.

The third grant is for traffic safety, Seat Belt (SB) enforcement. All money for this grant is also for extra patrol county wide for SB enforcement in overtime.

The Sheriffs Office Patrol also applied for and received (2) very important equipment grants from the State of Maine, Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Highway Safety.

The first of these grants is (6) six new Panasonic, CF-30, Toughbook computer for instillation in the Sheriffs Patrol Vehicles for traffic safety enforcement and CRASH reporting.

The second of the equipment grant is for (4) four new Radar units for SPEED enforcement.

The Sheriffs Patrol Division is preparing for and looking forward to a very productive summer providing a safe and secure environment for all who live and visit Washington County, Maine.
