May 17, 2014 - The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is in a state of great shock and mourning at the unexpected death today of Chief Deputy Shawn Donahue. Chief Deputy Donahue, 41, was with his family when he passed away due to natural causes. During his nineteen-year career in law enforcement, Chief Deputy Donahue held many patrol and administrative positions, including Chief of Police of the Baileyville Police Department. He became Chief Deputy of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in January, 2013. Funeral arrangements will be announced in the coming days.

Sergeant – Perform all duties associated with being a police officer including investigations, traffic enforcement, and complaints. I was assigned as the Supervisor for the Field Training Program. I was the second in command, and perform all supervisory duties of the patrol division.

Corporal – Performed all duties associated with being a police officer including investigations, traffic enforcement, and complaints. I was assigned as the Field Training Officer, and the supervisor of the Reserve Police Officers.

Patrol Officer – Performed all duties associated with being a police officer including investigations, traffic enforcement, and complaints.
