12/07/08: Chief Deputy St Louis and Sergeant Tabbutt escorted “Wreath Across America” to Bangor.

12/10/08: “Cop’s For Kid’s” program was a great success. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office received over 300 stuffed toys, thanks to many gracious citizens and business’s who contributed stuffed toys to kid’s in Cambodia and Washington County.
12/31/08: Civil Division handled 184 paper of civil process. 12/31/08: 10 Protection Orders.

12/31/08: Average inmate count for month of December 51.

The Sheriff’s Patrol handled 412 Calls for Service from December 1, 2008 through January 1, 2009.

The Calls for Service are broken out into incident type in the attached Call Type PDF file.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted (12) twelve Sex Offender Registrations (SOR) in the month of December 2008. I once again must point out this requirement placed on the Patrol Division is strapping our patrol resources and diverting time away from criminal investigations. In the year 2009 I am hoping to re-assign these SOR’s investigations and free up the Patrol Deputies time.

The Sheriffs Office Patrol Holiday OUI/Seatbelt grant operation is complete and was a very successful operation. I am very proud of the numbers coming out of the operation and believe the Sheriff’s Office reduced the number of motor vehicle accident and deaths as a result of OUI arrests made. I must commend the Patrol Division for the success of the operation.

I look forward to the many challenges facing the Sheriff’s Office in the up coming year.
