Weekly Report for March 14 – 20, 2014

During this time the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to 79 calls for service. Several bail checks were done by the deputies during this time. The deputies responded to 15 motor vehicle accidents. Notable complaints are listed below:

Deputy Gregory Sawyer investigated a possible theft in Princeton. The Food Mart reported finding 2 empty packages which should have contained tire gauges. Upon viewing the video a subject was located and issued a summons for Theft by Unauthorized Taking.

Sgt Ralph Pineo investigated a report of criminal mischief in Charlotte. A vehicle had been vandalized. Investigation continues.

Sgt Ralph Pineo received a call from a resident in Charlotte. He reported that ½ tank of diesel fuel was missing from his garage. Investigation is ongoing.

Sgt Ralph Pineo responded to a report of harassment in Edmunds Township. The caller had allegedly received numerous calls and text messages from his ex-wife. A verbal warning was given to the ex-wife.

Lt Timothy Tabbutt responded to a domestic disturbance in East Machias. A husband and wife were in a verbal argument. The wife agreed to leave for the night. No charges at this time.

Lt Timothy Tabbutt investigated a theft in Jonesport. Cash was reported missing from a home. Investigation is ongoing.

Sgt Ralph Pineo assisted US Customs with a warrant. An individual had an active warrant for desertion from the United States Army. Sgt Pineo arrested the subject.

Deputy Dennis Worcester assisted Machias Police Dept. with an unruly patient at Downeast Community Hospital.

Lt Timothy Tabbutt and Deputy Dennis Worcester responded to a domestic assault in Cherryfield. A male had allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. The male was arrested and charged with domestic assault.

Deputy Dennis Worcester investigated a possible criminal mischief in Jonesboro. A resident noticed that someone had tried to pry her door open while she was away. Investigation continues.

Lt Timothy Tabbutt, Sgt Ralph Pineo and Deputy Dennis Worcester executed a warrant in Lubec. A fugitive from Texas was living in Lubec under an alias. The fugitive was taken to the Washington County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Texas.

Sgt Brandon Parker responded to a call from a female that was reporting multiple injuries from her boyfriend. The female refused medical treatment. The boyfriend was arrested and charged with domestic assault.
