The Sheriff’s Patrol Division experienced a very busy month handling 282 Calls for Service from October 1, 2010 through October 31, 2010.

Chief Deputy Mike St Louis had the unique opportunity to attain a highly specialized training with the Department of Conversation, Maine Forest Service (MFS). The Course was Complex Incident Management Course (CIMC) paid for by the National Foresters Association. It was a very intense one week of training which provided him with certification as a TYPE 1 incident , Public Information Officer certification. I he was assigned as a member of the MFS Incident Management Team. This was a very rare chance for him to be provided this training and has never been done in the State of Maine before. The amount of information learned will provide a great asset to the people of Washington County.

I would like to also recognize the Patrol Division for achieving the highest criminal clearance rate of any Sheriff's Office in the State of Maine in the 2009. This was a daunting task. This clearance rate was only accomplished by dedicated, hard working deputy sheriff's with total and complete cooperation from the citizens of Washington County. These efforts have made Washington County a safer and better place to live.
